Academic Journals TO CONSIDER FOR QUALITATIVE SOCIAL MEDIA RESEARCH ON DIGITAL CONSUMER CULTURE

IN marketing AND CONSUMER CULTURE

This is not at all an exhaustive list. Marketing and consumer culture journals are increasingly interested in digital consumer culture and receptive to innovative qualitative methods using social media data. The journals listed below are each well-respected (according to the ABDC Journal List) and have either 1) previously published this type of research or 2) have editorial board members with experience in this type of research. These outlets may also be useful for media scholars to position their work by drawing on perspectives from marketing, branding, and consumer culture. To search for marketing- and consumer culture-related special issues, I recommend using the ELMAR AMA database. Reach out to the special issue editor(s) in advance to get guidance and feedback regarding fit. Journals are listed alphabetically.
